Meet the Team
Scar is a miniature dachshund who supports Teddy in dispersing smaller nuisance birds and spends her off time hunting rabbits during the falconry season. Despite her small size, she is more than willing to play the predator and keep areas clear of birds!
Named for the Latin meaning of the word “peregrine” as the wanderer, Nomad is a hybrid of gyrfalcon and peregrine falcon. He is the most recent addition to our team and is growing and learning more and more each day! Nomad is an extremely fit, fast flying bird, designed for high altitude aerial maneuvers. Through imitation hunts using a lure, Nomad can help to disperse larger flocks of gulls, pigeons, starlings, and other birds.
Our male American Kestrel, and one of our conservation program birds, Steve is the smallest member of our team, but don’t let that fool you! He is a tiny but tenacious predator who enjoys showing off his quick flights and upbeat personality. In our control programs, he also likes to chase down invasive starlings and is bold enough to call out larger birds in the area. Thankfully wild, kestrel populations are currently on the rebound.
